Welcome to ect.org

You will find a great deal of information on electroconvulsive therapy, pro, con and neutral. The site is huge, and I’ve tried to organize articles to make it as easy as possible to find the type of info you seek. Many articles are tagged for more than one category, and you will also find “Possibly Related Articles” at the bottom of each page to expand your search.

The menu at the right has the main categories concerning electroconvulsive therapy. Please note that this site has been online for 15 years, and therefore, some articles will be much older than others.

You may comment on any article without having to register. At this time, comments will be unmoderated. If spammers show up, however, I’ll have to change that.

For more information and discussion about electroconvulsive therapy, you might want to also visit ect.org’s companion site, ZapRap.org, the message forums. At this time, registration is required for most forums.

There hasn’t been a post on your forum since 2008. Can you give a referral? I’m an ECT victim and don’t tell me to join a Facebook group on this subject. I’m on there under an alias and I always post under an alias since I was stalked online in 2005.

Chuck, I am so sorry for what you are going through. 2 month ago I underwent 6 treatments of ECT. I have never been the same since. It had the total opposite effect on me as to what I had been told. It has effected my memory and vision terribly. The doctors told me that it would take away the memories of trauma that I lived for the first 20 years of my life. Instead it has caused me to remember even more of the horrible abuse I was forced to live in.
There is so much more that I could share with you. My ECT treatments have been a nightmare
and made my life even harder then it was pre-ECT.
I hope you can find some support. I have not been able to find much support. It seems like there is no one that can really understand unless they have undergone ETC themselves. I thought that ect.org and zaprap.org would be some support, but it looks as if those sites are not kept up to date very well. My search for support continues daily.
I wish good things for you and hope that we both can find the support that we so dearly deserve and need. Take good care of yourself and don’t give up.

hi everyone, this site looks very useless. I saw very informative articles.

Should be both the best and the worst of the year. It should be the worst though because the execution is terrible. So much so that I instantly moved from being an illustrator to becoming a designer. My hatred of that logo burns in my chest to this day. The name of the designer behind that logo is the only reason for any of its success. The best list the year is pretty mediocre for me. no logo is an island and none should be entirely judged in isolation of the way they are used. Not to mention the oddly huggable serif. Removing the tilt on the two background hearts also really enhanced its impact. I get the feeling that alot of branding is done by techies nowadays. Brands are important but their strength depends on a tightly online randevu
hastane randevu
hastanelermicromanaged image. The free flow of information threatens a tightly controlled image. this is not a association that Facebook created or marketed but a reputation its users created. Does good brand application override the need for a decently designed logo. Wolff Olins are just too good to be frivolous. If you release a new list in a few days I promise to pretend like this list never came out. Congratulations to you on a fantastic and entertaining year.

This site is total crap when it comes to talking about ECT.

I expected information about ECT. I did not expect all of the negativity.

“You will find a great deal of information on electroconvulsive therapy, pro, con and neutral.”

I didn’t find any pro or neutral information.

I still refer to this site in 2019. It is very informative and very clean. The purpose is relating to mine in the fact that I am exposing the truth about ECT and the sickening agenda of Psychiatry.

Is this site still being run by Juli?
