Which is little comfort for Alex Doherty, order malegra fxt (sildenafil + fluoxetine) from us, Malegra fxt (sildenafil + fluoxetine) sale, a Glaswegian whose brother Joseph was one of the thousand people a year in Britain given ECT against their will. 'His nursing notes record 17 times when he resisted treatment or said he didn't want it,' said Doherty, whose younger brother had schizophrenia. 'The doctor didn't even get a second opinion. Joe was given eight or nine treatments against his will over eight weeks. He just wasn't Joe, he became hyper and permanently confused.'
Nursing notes show Joe told his 'carers' twice that if it carried on he would run away and jump off a bridge and kill himself, malegra fxt (sildenafil + fluoxetine) online without prescription. 'And that's exactly what he did. He was 30,' said Doherty. 'It was horrendous'.
ECT patients are given general anaesthetic and strong muscle relaxant to virtually paralyse them, and stop dangerous physical convulsions. Malegra fxt (sildenafil + fluoxetine) online without prescription, Their skin is smeared with gel for electrical conduction, and electrodes are taped to the forehead. The patient is then strapped on their back to a flat table, which pivots so patients can be turned upside-down if they vomit. One patient was recently given ECT on a fixed table, and when he started vomiting they couldn't remove him quick enough to prevent him choking. He ended up brain damaged and permanently paralysed.
Psychiatrists increase voltage until they get a twitching toe - a sign that, despite paralysing drugs, the body's nervous system is in major convulsion. The electrical storm raging through every synapse of the brain is meant to cure patients, although psychiatrists admit they have no idea how, malegra fxt (sildenafil + fluoxetine) online without prescription.
Rebecca Jason (not her real name), a literature graduate, went through ECT about 40 times. 'It was very easy for them to get me to agree to it, because I did not know what I was doing,' she recalled. 'It had a very profound effect on my ability to make decisions. I had panic attacks for ages. Malegra fxt (sildenafil + fluoxetine) online without prescription, It affected my memory greatly - I could no longer remember books, or quote from them, which I used to be able to. There are certain things I've never been able to do since, like sew. I'm shaking all over just thinking about it.'
Butterfield claims half those given ECT are harmed by it. Solicitors are preparing two class actions for ECT survivors who want compensation, and hope to force a ruling on its legality. Butterfield wants ECT banned for those over 65 or under 18 and pregnant women - but most urgently on forcing people to have it.
Salter admits that, if people are given it against their will, psychiatrists should have to go to court to get permission. 'But for God's sake, carry on using it when it can save lives. Are we going to just let these depressed people die?'.

I have had three menbers of my family undergo shock treatments.
My mother father and older brother.
All three are able to use good judgement.I belive that they have brain damage.
my father committed suicide.
my mother asked me “What are hot liquids that you drink” and told me “you dont get meat from cows, the only thing you get from cows is milk.”
She is unable to care for herself in my opinion and does not make very rational decisions.
My older brother was diagnosed with schizophrenia.
He was given shock treatments and now talk to himself, laughs to himself and waves his hands around.
I dont remember his doing this prior tho the shock treatments. And he is totally incapable of caring for himself. I remember him crying and telling me how much he hated to have them when he was a teenager.
If I could sue the psychiatrists that messed up my family I certainly would.
Sincerely
Darren Mackay
I have had 36ECT treatments but it has been many years. WHat you descibe , I am still going through the same things. I also stopped taking my meds about four months ago as I felt the doctors were not doing anything to help me. I do however feel a little bit better but am always confused about if I am making the right decisions.
There is a case of Peggy Salters who lives in S.C. She sued and wher case is the first one to win that amount. I have contact with her. If you want I can send you her case number.
I have wwanted to find a lawyer and sue but they seem to look at me like I do not know what the hell I am talking about. I need help in this area. ANy suggestions?
I am 56 years old. I was forced to undertake shock treatment when I was 18 years old. My father signed for it. I had been taking the drug valium, and after a year realized I needed help to re-direct my life so I went home. My parents saw my behavior as very wierd, as it was, I was not sure what was happening to me either. I was detoxing from diazepam, which the doctors never told me was addictive. My parents forced me into a county psychiatric hospital in Bergen County, NJ. They diagnosed me with paranoid schizophrenia and shocked me maybe seven times. It was horrible. It was like torture but there was nothing you could do to stop them. When I tried to fight the nurses to stop them, I could see how hateful they were. I have always believed it was a punishment, one that ruined my life. I have two children and I feel so bad when I cannot remember most things they tell me. I cannot learn anything new. I am not the same and I am very passive. I was not like that ever. My life has been so hard and I have tried so hard to live a normal life. It is so hard to say exactly what the shock therapy did to me. It took away my mind. I was an A student in high school and a very intelligent person. I am still intelligent but unable to hold onto thoughts or memory. They have taken my life from me at such a young age and to think they are still doing it makes me want to scream. I will find the right doctor and lawyer to help me in this lawsuit. Somebody has to stop it. I may be very damaged but I am not crazy. I will never give up my quest to stop this cruel and damaging “money making”
corrupt, sickening torture in the name of psychiatry. If a woman in S.C. could win her case perhaps others will begin and the procedure will be outlawed.
I am a 29 year old female and a few years ago I ended up in the hospital for 3 months having to undergo ect. I probably had over 24 treatments that time alone and before that I had been in the hospital many times before that. Each time I was given ECT against my will. I was only 18 the first time I had it done to me after I had my son and was first diagnosed with post partum phycosis. Well I’ve been on meds since(clopixol and tegretol) they seem to work I guess since I haven’t been hospitalized in years but I have to say the effects of the ECT have greatly effected my memory short and long. I feel like I lost part of who I was years ago. I never felt the same. I was very confused and destracted most of the time. Now I don’t work as I was working full time as a hairstylist before and now my self image of myself and self-esteem has greatly been affected. It saddens me a lot and most of all I feel angry that I had to suffer so much and go through so much and now I feel terrible for anyone who has to go what I went through. I just saw some of the blogs and wanted to make a comment. If I had a choice not to have it done I would of never got it done but unfortunately I didn’t have no choice of the matter.
This note is for Maria who wrote in on November 12, at 2:06 pm. or anyone who is interested in class action please contact me. There is no way shock treatment will stop with one “person”. According to the psychiatric standard we are sick and unable to make decisions. It will take a group of many, a good lawyer and several doctors that can prove how damaging ect is. I am 56 years old now and my life has been OK, however I have never succumbed to anything, I have never done anything. I have tried, and tried. The shock “therapy” damaged my self for life. My memory is sadly gone, but to no avail as I went to my parents for help, as I was a bad teenager and I and my friend were taking valium like thay were candy. I was very introverted and the valium helped me be more outgoing. But when I saw how they were making me look for them in a panic when I did not have them I knew it we time to go home to my (very strict) parents. I thought they would help me. It was not their fault, the doctors told them I would never get better. I would be an idiot forever. They were right. Before I knew it I was in the psych ward and then even sooner on ect. If any doctor is willing to give this a try, or lawyer please contact me. If not now when. These creeps are getting away with murder under the assumption that they are doctors trying to help people. The shock machines are expensive and the whole procedure is out of line. When I was in the hospital, I never heard of shock treatment and I did not know what it was. I was afraid. After the first one and I did not know my name they said it was a success. Anything after that was against my will and I tried to run away. We were locked on the 9th floor. I know I am damaged, however, I am intelligent, somehow, they did not knock out all of my cells. I am only half fried. Amazing how much electricity they used , double sided stuff They shocked us to the max. I am still waiting to get better. Please contact me with a contact for Peggy Salters. But it has to be many people to really work. Doctors and lawyers please contact me. Now is the time. Respectfuly, Jean Boyd.
