Adaequatio Intellectus Ad Rem

Latin term that can be translated as “the adequation of the intellect to reality” or “the conformity of the intellect to reality.” It denotes logical truth.   Such “adequation” can take place either immediately (through knowledge of self-evident truths or experiential truths) or mediately (through discursive reasoning).
